Living in Bowling Green all of my life, I’ve never thought twice about The Bowling Green Daily News. It’s a paper that’s always been around and a paper that continues to strive in times where print is suffering.
The BG Daily News covers six counties in the region, but emphasizes on the local news taking place in Warren County. In this current economy, The Daily News still continues to put out a new paper every day of the week. And according to The BG Daily News Facebook page, the paper has over 125 employees.
With the current craze of having everything at our fingertips on the Internet, BG Daily News has also created an online version of the newspaper. All articles are there to read without pay, including the classifieds and the obituaries. You are able to read all articles online for free, but in order to see articles in the archive past the 14 days from the current publication, you’ll have to pay a small fee.
The online version of the Daily News is very similar to the printed version. Both even have similar advertisements. On both the online and printed version, the ads you’ll see are all of local businesses. Businesses like Ford’s Furniture, Edmonton State Bank and Jimmy John’s are all businesses that you’ll find advertisements for in both versions of the Daily News.
Overall, I believe that the online version and printed version of The Bowling Green Daily News are in very good condition. Both are set up well and both provide national news and local news for South Central Kentucky. And in a time very print is beginning to die out, the Daily News is doing very well.
